Wheel-end early warning · US Patent 11,433,700 · Granted

Same plug.
Now it warns you.

The Magnetic Hub Plug drops into the wheel-end oil-fill port you already service. Its magnet pulls the steel shavings a failing bearing sheds out of the hub oil, so trouble shows up on a 30-second pretrip look, not on the shoulder. No battery. No subscription. No new SKU to train techs on.

The failure you never see coming

Bearings don't fail loud. They fail late.

A scored wheel bearing grinds metal into the hub oil for thousands of miles before it seizes. By the time you hear it, you are looking at a roadside breakdown, a failed DOT inspection, or a wheel-off. The warning was in the oil the whole time. Nobody could see it.

Magnetic Hub Plug, three-quarter hero view with the magnet tab

Built to replace one part you already pull.

It seats in the same port as your standard rubber oil plug. The directional arrow points the collector toward the bearing. The magnet sits in the oil path and holds onto any steel the bearing sheds.

  • 01Domed sealing body. Plugs the fill port and keeps the hub oil where it belongs.
  • 02Collector arm + magnet. Reaches into the oil toward the bearing and captures shavings.
  • 03Readable face. Pull it on a pretrip, wipe the magnet, read the metal. Clean is good. Fuzzy is a warning.

Three steps

Install once. Read it every pretrip.

Cutaway diagram: pull the old oil fill plug straight out of the hub cap port

Pull the old plug

Remove the standard rubber oil fill plug from the hub cap. No special tools, no hub teardown.

Cutaway diagram: push the Magnetic Hub Plug into the same fill port

Push in the Magnetic Hub Plug

Seat it in the same port with the arrow pointing toward the bearing. It seals like the plug it replaces.

Plug face with metal fuzz collected on the magnet: the early warning

Pull, wipe, read

On every pretrip, pull it and check the magnet. Metal fuzz means the bearing is shedding steel. That is your early warning.

Why it wins

Mechanical simplicity beats another sensor to babysit.

Collects metal shavings

The magnet pulls steel out of the hub oil and holds it where you can see it.

No electronics or battery

Nothing to charge, pair, or replace. It cannot go dark on you.

Retrofits in seconds

Replaces the existing oil fill plug. No hub teardown, no new hardware.

No subscription

Buy it once. There is no monthly fee and no telematics contract behind it.

Sold in 2-packs

Packaged per axle pair so you can outfit wheel-ends two at a time.

Patented design

A purpose-built collector, not a generic drain magnet. US Patent 11,433,700.

20
10

A standard 18-wheeler runs about 10 oil wheel-ends. A 24-wheeler runs about 14. Steer-axle grease caps do not count.

$2,500

A roadside hub service call runs about $2,500 per wheel-end. A full wheel-off, with towing, downtime, cargo, and liability, runs tens of thousands. Drag the cost slider to your worst case.

Fitment check

Does it fit your wheel-ends?

The Magnetic Hub Plug is built around the industry-standard oil hub cap fill port. It fits standard oil wheel-ends on drive and trailer axles.

✓ Fits standard oil hub cap fill ports. Stemco 6-1/4″ and equivalents, on drive and trailer axles. Grease-packed hubs have no oil port, so they don’t apply.
